Make the study of Citizenship compulsory in primary and Secondary schools. And I don\’t mean in the old Civics class doss-hour kind of way – make them sit an exam. Create a Young Citizen of the Year showcase – along the lines of the Young Scientist of the Year – this will educate our kids on the merits of democracy and meritocracy.
