The problem with the current recession is simple – how to best distribute work and accrued benefits fairly.
The two extreme methods for doing for distributing work and benefits accrued, free-market capitalism (a free-for-all) and communism (State capitalism), have clearly failed.
The solution lies in between. We had this system in Ireland 50 years where the family was regarded as the economic unit and jobs and benefits were distributed accordingly. Tax was levied on those who could afford to pay. Public service jobs were distributed to breadwinners. Housing was regarded as a home, not a source of wealth etc. People worked to live not lived to work which is the basis of our current system
So go back the 50\’s for a decent future!
