The markets will show us where the cracks are there is nothing like putting your money where your mouth is. Banks will be the first to show …. watch our banks dropping until they become worthless. Indeed banks throughout europe will see their values drop as the realisation that debt is like a cancer in our societies. There is no way out for countries like Ireland where personal, company and national debt will cripple us for generations to come. Its time to start working off the debt while interest rates are low. Cutting public spending is the first step, that means more public sector pay cuts, more social welfare cuts, cuts to quangos etc etc.
We all too must start paying off those mortgages early, cutting down the credit card spend and get back to the basics we enjoy.
When will the markets decide that they are not going to provide any more money for government bonds that day is coming soon. Before then the cost of borrowing will increase, again the market will show us this first.
I believe it is the market whether it is the housing market, the stock market or the bond market which will show the first signs.

NAMA is a mechanism to seize a ‘stack of debts’ and keep the debts alive and safe from ever been erased.

So, when the ‘stack of debts’ are quarantined and safe locked from been erased the banks will be immediately nationalized.

The banks were not nationalized before the stack of debt got moved into warehousing. If banks were nationalized with the ‘stack of debts’ alongside we may have witnessed the gov under pressure writing the debts off.

And this of course must not happen. The powers at be cannot let the idea of debts been erased from banks books get out into the public domain cos jill and joe schmo will start thinking “hey, erase my debt too please.”
