Now that the global Greenspan ‘light touch’ regulation economics, is discredited, with its crazy bonus structure and playful future derivative casino speculation braked, we should avoid the tainted financial service industry.

Instead, build on what we have. Negotiate with the leaders of innovative enterprises wordwide, report back and implement if possible the structural requirements to suit location in Ireland. Get help from the diaspora.

They won’t come without considerable effort to clean up our own mess which unfortunately is becoming more toxic as we speak..

Dump the present incompetent government. Hearings to begin immediately with Fingleton, Seanie et al in the dock to answer questions on their political affiliations and actions over the past decade.

Public inquiry to be followed by a Garda inquiry with greater powers of probity.

Still waiting for the new regulatory system in Ireland to be published?

george lee was mocking David Andrews the other day on RTE radio about the investigation into Anglo Irish Bank and how long the charade will go on etc.
It gave me an idea about bringing in a special investigator from outside the country..

Looks like Ireland will be a haven for tax dodging bankers. I don’t understand how UK, America, France and Germany allow it. Maybe it’s because they want to be seen to be taking action against bankers, but just move them somewhere they control???

You’ve twisted my words, by any employment, you know I mean any employment in Ireland for Irish people who are unemployed. You know this is what David is talking about in this article – Getting Irish people in Ireland off the Irish Dole and into Irish employment.
