Join host David McWilliams for a fiery public conversation on how environmental issues and the green agenda are compromised by economic crisis or whether they can be mutually beneficial.

Everyone knows the environment is a key issue facing us over the next few years. Fiscally, is it a choice between people or trees or is the current economic climate the perfect time to tackle the environmental climate?
With so many out of work can we afford environmental moves that threaten jobs?
Can changing to environmentally friendly practices create more jobs than it threatens?
Can we afford to ignore the environment in the short term and what affect could that have long term?
Do we need to fundamentally change the philosophy of our economy in order to save the planet or can we work in new measures into the existing structure?

Should we now go nuclear?

Panel includes:

Eamon Ryan – Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources

Duncan Stewart – Television presenter, architect and environmental activist

Paul Sommerville – Head of Private Clients, Delta Index

Musical satire from Paddy Cullivan

Standup comedy from Jarleth Regan

Sorry, cannot make it, any chance of streaming/podcast???

This sounded interesting at first glance but I’m not really interested in “Late Late Show” style mixtures of entertainment and debate, which is what “Leviathan” sounds like. If I want to go to a cabaret I’ll do that, and if I want to go to a political discussion I’ll do that.

    Hope it goes well anyway.
