Well I’ve just listened to all 3 episodes, almost in a row.

I left Dublin in 1987 at the age of 23 and oddly enough straight from lingus. the stagnation was deep rooted. Doc Martens were not the norm. I’ve lived in France, UAE, Australia, and Polynesia and last year I tried a comeback to Ireland. Although the auld dole office employees in Ballymun were more open from a human perspective than any french civil servant; I had to give up looking for work after 4 months. I never received a single response to a letter; I wrote one letter to a french company and started work four days later. I would gladly communicate on this subject further if you are interested. It is not clear from the episodes where you situate the competetive advantage with ireland.
